In remote areas, a Topping plant to produce Diesel from crude oil is also economic. Topping Plants are not meant to replace Refineries. It is not practical to produce commercial gasoline with a Topping Plant, but they can also produce Aviation Fuel. Topping Plants can process 100 B/D to 20,000 B/D in skid mounted processing units. VMG Symmetry is utilized to simulate Topping Plants. A standard D-86 distillation curve and the required Diesel specifications is all that is required. No power units available.
